I, Dawa, lived in a village during my adolescent years. When I was just 4 years old, life led me to Nepal’s bustling capital, Kathmandu, in search of better opportunities. It was there that I received my education and took my first steps into the world of management with the Serang Monastery.
Over the years, I've been fortunate to co-manage Serang’s Foundation and its non-profit trekking agency. And today, I'm proud to serve as the Head Chairperson of the Serang School, where I'm dedicated to supporting our community's educational journey
Tenzing was born in Lho Village, Nubri. Shortly after his birth, he was adopted and raised in the United States by Americans who had lived in Nepal for 20 years.
At the age of 7, Tenzing had the chance to reunite with his biological family, sparking a lifelong determination to connect his American upbringing with his Himalayan roots. Since then, Tenzing has been on a mission to bring together his two homes through philanthropy and trekking adventures.
We train local guides to provide authentic experiences rooted in our family's heritage and deep knowledge of the Valley.
